A Linguist’s Guide to Baradin Hold: Healer Version

Pit Lord Argaloth

Pit Lord Argaloth is the first — and as of this writing, the only — boss in Baradin Hold.  It is a relatively simple fight with only a few mechanics to be aware of.

For the majority of the fight, the tanks are going to be standing on opposite sides of the boss.  The raid is going to be split up into two groups, with one healer and 3 DPS stacking on each tank.  The reason for this is Meteor Slash, which would one-shot the tank if it weren’t being distributed amongst your group.  This means that in addition to keeping the tank up, you will need to heal all 5 people in your group every time this is cast.

The most important thing for healers to be aware of, though, is the magic effect Consuming Darkness.  Argaloth will cast this on random raid members, three at a time.  Dispelling this is a priority because you will quickly run out of mana trying to heal through it.

At 66% and 33% he will cast Fel Firestorm.  This essentially drops fire all around the room, so you’ll want to keep moving to avoid it, taking care to watch for raid damage throughout.  When this is over, you’ll want to quickly get back in position so your tank doesn’t take the full brunt of a Meteor Slash.
