The forums are working again!
That’s right. I, your humble leader and servant, have put forth much effort in making the forums usable for all. Lavish me with whatever praises you want.
And hey, while I’m at it…are there any other things about the site that need to be updated?

I didn’t fuck up the forum, guys!
In fact, I’m pretty sure I made things better. As far as I can tell, the forum is loading much faster now. Also, I believe I’ve made it so people can register forum accounts without us getting a massive influx of spambots.
So, do me a favor…while using the forum in the future, keep an eye out for anything that isn’t working or looking right, and let me know if I need to fix anything. Hopefully all is well, though.

Forum Update 2012 (Alternate Title: “Cutaia may fuck up the forum”)
Seeing as there’s been a bit more interest in the forum recently, I figure it’s finally time to get the software updated so that we can finally allow new members to make accounts without e-mailing me.
If I know myself, I’ll fuck it all up and have to spend a few hours or nights fixing the damn code. So, here’s just a heads up to be prepared for that possibility.
I’ll be trying to do it tonight, so that’s when it all might go down.

LFM Bloggers, PST
Once again, I’d like to put out a call for guild bloggers. It is not necessary to be an Author or Book Club member to help contribute to the site. It’s not even important that you spend all that much time in-game with us. All that is required is a desire to contribute interesting, well-written pieces to assist and entertain our readers. Writers can focus on guild activities and relations, or simply the game itself. If it’s WoW-related and of interest to your friends here at The Linguists, we want to showcase it.
While having folks write some one-off pieces occasionally would be great, we’re specifically looking for columnists…so if you have a wonderful idea for a regular column, we’d love to hear it. Just send your clever ideas and a sample blog entry to cutaia@thecunninglinguists.net for review.

Just so everyone is aware, we are indeed still looking for columnists or bloggers to help add content to our little section of the internet. It’s not necessary to be an elected official in order to help with the site. The only requirements are writing skills worthy of the Linguists-name and a desire to assist and entertain our 4* regular readers.
If you think your writing style and creativity would fit in well here, please send your column ideas or a sample blog entry to cutaia@thecunninglinguists.net so we can pass your work around and laugh behind your back review it for approval.
Currently, we are especially looking for class columnists as well as an all-around knowledgeable player (or group of players) to field a Dear Abbey style column where guildies can submit questions about how to improve their game.
We’re also looking for clever ideas that we haven’t thought of already, so go on: Blow our minds with your brilliant bloggin’ ideas.
*maybe 3.

Smokin’ Polls: Website themes officially “great.”
So, since we’ve had a poll sitting at the right side of our main page for damn near months, I thought to myself that maybe it was about time to, oh, I dunno…do something with it?
So, in our first poll, I asked how people felt about the website redesign. We learned two things from the results:

- You folks seem to like the way the website looks, even if you pretty much never visit it.
- One of you is a dick who wants to make me cry.
So, for the new poll, I thought I’d ask something that will serve more of a purpose than simply making me feel good about my web design skills. Currently on the front page, you can vote on which Glory of the Icecrown Raider achievements we should attempt first. Be sure to get the votes rolling in, because they’ll determine what we’ll be trying in raids to come.

R&P revision notice.
The R&P have undergone their first revision. Only relatively minor changes this time. Here are the basics:
- Library Clerks and Authors are now required to have Authenticators attached to their accounts.
- Previously discussed gear levels for raid entry are now official.
- Fixed an error on the vent server’s information.
- Clarified loot rolls a bit.
The latest R&P can always be found here, and revision histories will be archived here.

I love it when a guild comes together…
Today’s blog title is brought to you by The A-Team…coming to theaters on, um…eh, who cares?
So, The Censored Linguists are up and running again and things are starting to get back to somewhat normal. The guild bank is full and when I feel like spending another couple hours staring at Blizzard’s terrible, terrible guild management system, I’ll get all the ranks fixed, too.
I’ve mailed out in-game letters to every former guildie I could possibly remember, so hopefully we’ll get a lot of them back (the Armory doesn’t show that they’ve joined new guilds yet, at least).
The hackers deleted my guild advert macros (which, by the way, is just plain mean you fuckers) so I’ll have to recreate them to start advertising again. Other than that, we’ve got guild elections coming up in the beginning of July, the relaunching of the monthly Northrend Exposure contest and a ton of Cataclysm news to start looking at.
So, exciting times coming up. We came, we saw, we got F’d in the A. But that’s all behind us. Time to look forward and get this guild back to its awesome normal self.

Site 97% done!
Get this…the website is finally just about done (and quite frankly, what’s left to do can wait a bit). Final touches that really bring it all together:
- WoW themed emoticons and topic icons for the forum.
- Blog no longer looks like generic wordpress blog. Now looks like generic hand-coded crappy blog.
- Sidebar now includes vent server status and lets you know how many zeros of people are in vent at all times.
- Polls on main page.
- New: Working guild application!
- More pink.
By the way, don’t worry. This weekend I was totally reassured that our guild color is as hardcore as I think it is when I saw some real life gang graffiti scrawled on a bus stop with it. Nothing says “CRIP 4 LIFE NBK” like a little hot pink spray paint.

Website updates happen; Dogs living with cats.
In what could only be described as the first sign of the cataclysm apocalypse, I finally followed through on my past promises to make this website more awesome less crappy.
You’ll notice that both the forum and the blog have their own custom linguified themes now. Also of note, the front page has a pollbox instead of a notice that “This is where polls will go.” Tonight I will add the FAQ, Application, etc. and we’ll be pretty much good to go on the website front.
